Go in Power (Reading Mark 16)

Mark 16:15-18 NKJV

“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We often remember these verses as ones that tell us about preaching the Gospel.  We often ignore the second half which talks about going out in power. Reading these verses together , the overall message is about a Gospel that brings about transformation  of lives in powerful ways. It may be the simple ministry to the lonely and the needy bringing them joy.  It may be supernatural events with the sick being healed, and long-time crippled getting out of their wheel chairs.  It may be a   transformational event with a drug addict turning over a new leaf and finding new success in life.  Whatever it is, the outcome is always fantastic and wonderful.  We should expect great power each time we go out and minister with the gospel. We are sure to see lives changed.
